After nearly seven years of implementation for the first-generation alliances, the event provided an opportunity to reflect on their achievements and discuss how they can continue to transform higher education through international cooperation, mobility, teaching and research.<\/p>\n

A central theme of the discussions was the involvement of academic staff in alliance activities. While European alliances offer professors and researchers new opportunities for collaboration, they may face obstacles related to workload, recognition, mobility arrangements and institutional constraints.<\/p>\n

The meeting brought together academics who shared their experiences, followed by a panel of administrative representatives discussing ways to better support and value academic engagement.<\/p>\n

Erica Di Caro, Academic Affairs Officer for EUNICE at the University of Mons (UMONS), participated in the panel alongside representatives of the UNIC and UNIgreen alliances.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis event also provided an opportunity to observe that, despite the diversity of our institutions and partnerships, we face very similar experiences and challenges when it comes to engaging the academic community in the long term. These discussions enable us to take a step back and reflect on our own practices, and to share the various solutions that have been put in place to support and better recognise this commitment.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The discussions highlighted the importance of addressing organisational and financial challenges, recognising staff contributions and creating the conditions for more active academic participation.<\/p>\n

By bringing together different perspectives, the event provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and reflect on how European Universities alliances can strengthen their impact and become more deeply embedded in the daily life of higher education institutions.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
