This year’s Forum, also called CETEF22 and in which also participated Vice-Rector for International Relations Pawe\u0142 \u015aniata\u0142a, was organised in Wroc\u0142aw, Poland, under the auspices of the European Commission and the patronage of the European Parliament, by IZTECH, the Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology and the Federation of Scientific and Technical Associations NOT. Among others guests, Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, and prof. Jerzy Buzek, former Polish Prime Minister and former President of the European Parliament, were present.<\/em><\/h4>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Rector of Pozna\u0144 University of Technology<\/a><\/span> (PUT-Poland), prof. Teofil Jesionowski, participated in the Central European Technology Forum<\/a><\/span> 2022 (CETEF22) that took place on 24th October in Wroc\u0142aw, Poland, and is aimed at creating an international platform for discussing European policy in the field of technological development, at inspiring networking to implement European projects in the field of high technologies and at presenting the Polish technological and research potential in the field of implementation of European Union development projects, in particular in the area of \u200b\u200bdigital and energy transformation.<\/p>\n

Rector Jesionowski took part in a plenary session and presented a lecture entitled Technical universities as facilitators of innovation ecosystem<\/em>. Also, prof. Pawe\u0142 \u015aniata\u0142a -Vice-Rector for International Relations at PUT<\/span><\/a> and EUNICE European University coordinator, actively participated in the panel on Cybersecurity: the core of the successful digital transformation where he discussed the future of cybersecurity with other panelists.<\/p>\n

An accompanying event for the Forum was Young Scientist Day, organised by the National Representation of Doctoral Students and the Council of Young Scientists. One of the panels was related to the role of young scientists in the development of international cooperation. Poznan University of Technology was represented there by: Prof. Pawe\u0142 \u015aniata\u0142a and Magdalena Sikorska, MA – Head of European University Department at PUT, the Pozna\u0144 University of Technology. They discussed, among other issues, the benefits for young scientists associated with the affiliation of their universities to the European Universities Initiative.<\/p>\n

Additionally, a day before the conference, a seperate meeting with the participation of EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth – Mariya Gabriel took place. The meeting concerned the European Commission’s support of Ukrainian students and doctoral students in the form of various educational and mobility programmes. PUT and the National Representation of Doctoral Students was represented at this meeting by Magdalena Sikorska, MA – this time in the role of a third-year student of the PUT Doctoral School. She stressed the importance of opening the European Universities initiative to Ukrainian universities, which can now be accepted into European consortia as associate partners.<\/p>\n
