\n<\/strong><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Chair of Technoscience<\/a><\/span> Studies at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg) is looking for interested partners within the EUNICE Excellence-Programme to establish a joint Master’s programme in the field of Technology, Science, and Society (TeSS).<\/p>\n

The certificate programme \u00ab\u00a0Technology, Science, and Society (TeSS)\u00a0\u00bb, which is already offered at the BTU, is the model for this initiative. TeSS deals with methods and theories of technology and science studies as well as the history of these central issues in modern technology and science-based societies, which have now become disciplinary.<\/p>\n

The aim of the programme is to provide students with knowledge, methods and practice to enable the responsible and sustainable design of science and technology. On the one hand, students deal with the societal impact of science and technology as well as with the risks and benefits of innovative technologies. On the other hand, epistemological, ethical and historical theories and methods are discussed.<\/p>\n

In an international and interdisciplinary environment, students learn classical reading and writing techniques, as well as newer creative and experimental techniques, to explore the following fundamental questions in a practical way: What is the relationship between technology and nature? What is the meaning of the Anthropocene era in which we all live? How do social interests affect the shaping of technology? What role do media play in the perception and realisation of technical artifacts? And what changes as participatory formats of scientific practice become increasingly important?<\/p>\n
