EUNICE alliance partly inspired this Italian university in the drafting of the plan: \u00ab\u00a0There are many interesting ideas coming from EUNICE and from its work on Gender Equality,\u00a0\u00bb said Professor of European Union Law Adriana Di Stefano<\/h3>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]University of Catania (Italy) presented its Gender Equality Plan (2022-206)<\/em>, aimed at ensuring promotion and effective implementation of values of equality, non-discrimination and diversity. To this end, the plan summarises actions and objectives to overcome gender barries and gaps at every level.<\/p>\n

Measure plannes \u2013from work-life balance, to analysis of decision-making and leadership processes, to gender equality in research and education\u2013 aim to \u00ab\u00a0continue on the right path, thanks to a new culture that has been permeating within the university administration,\u00a0\u00bb in words of this Italian university’s General Director Giovanni La Via<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

University of Catania’s data on gender gap are constantly improving and producing results: \u00ab\u00a0The achievements testify to a shift in thinking in our university,\u00a0\u00bb said Rector Francesco Priolo<\/strong>, \u00ab\u00a0comparing data over time shows how much our university has changed. This was possible thanks to collaboration of professors and staff to the path of governance undertaken.\u00a0\u00bb He added: \u00ab\u00a0Proportions of women in leadership roles are higher than national benchmarks. We are on the right road, but there is still a long way to improve.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n
