On 2nd May 2023 the Semiology and General Medicine Unit (Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy) and the Language and Internationalisation Unit (Faculty of Translation and Interpretation) organised the event\u00a0\u201cUMED: Health is Everyone\u2019s Responsibility\u201d.<\/strong><\/h4>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n

Around 150 students<\/strong> participated in the event to discuss (global) health-related topics in international and interdisciplinary teams<\/strong>. Attendees were given the opportunity to confront ideas and perspectives with peers from health sciences<\/strong> and allied health disciplines, translation and interpretation, international business and administration, applied arts, engineering and sciences. This hybrid event<\/strong> was hosted by MUM<\/strong><\/u>O<\/strong><\/u>NS<\/strong><\/u><\/a> <\/span>and had an international taste with the participation of students and lecturers based in Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Italy and Poland<\/strong>. The interactions were rich and insightful, and the exchanges challenged some assumptions on health care systems in the different countries represented:<\/p>\n

\u201cI took part in the event to get to know the different perspectives on health that students from other countries h<\/em>ave and also to share my own. I learned a lot from the event and had a great time debating the themes that were proposed. Special thanks to Florence Dasty (HE Condorcet), Alexandre Legrand (FMP UMONS), Audrey Louckx (FTI UMONS), Christine Michaux (FTI UMONS), Yves Mordant (HE Condorcet), Ana Luiza Pires de Freitas (UFCSPA), Airton Tetelbom Stein (UFCSPA), UFCSPA and EUNICE students (PUT, UNICT and especially BTU students (partner EUNICE university) for coming all the way through to Belgium to attend the event on site and last but not least, third-year UMONS medical students.<\/p>\n
