Its aim is to broaden the knowledge of Cervantine literature through a<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>transnational perspective<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The EUNICE partner\u00a0University of Cantabria<\/u><\/a><\/span> (Spain) is participating in \u201cEl Quijote Transnacional\u201d research project with the aim of creating a library of narrative rewritings of Don <\/em>Quixote<\/em>, by Miguel de Cervantes, in different languages to improve both its accessibility and knowledge.<\/p>\n

The researcher from the University of Cantabria involved in this project is Professor Alfredo Moro, from the Department of Philology, who together with Javier Garc\u00eda Albero, from the University of M\u00fcnster -Germany-, has translated and edited\u00a0into Spanish the German version of\u00a0Don Quixote<\/em>, by Wilhelm Ehrenfried Neugebauer, which was the first Cervantine novel in German literature. Professor Alfredo Moro highlighted that \u201cthis work, the German Don Quixote, has never been translated before into any other language, so its translation and study represents a real milestone in Cervantine studies.\u201d<\/p>\n

The project seeks, firstly, to deepen the research on the Cervantine filiation, paying particular attention to the reception of Don Quixote<\/em> in the corresponding national contexts, and, secondly, to trace possible ties between authors and novels from different countries.<\/p>\n

The selection of works to be studied were developed from Don Quixote<\/em> in a process of rewriting and some of them are the result of the intermediation of previous rewritings.<\/p>\n

In a nutshell, this project aims at analysing the different literary domains of Cervantes\u2019 reception, not in isolation but from an integrating perspective called \u2018transnational\u2019 because it deals with the international reception of Don Quixote in a transversal way.<\/p>\n
