\r\n\r\nSix EUNICE students attended the European Students Assembly held in Strasbourg, where about 275 students gathered to debate several topics of concern to the youth of Europe. \u201cIt is important that students themselves prepare the environment for new initiatives,\u201d stated Pawe\u0142 \u015aniata\u0142a, EUNICE project leader and Vice-Rector for International Relations at Pozna\u0144 University of Technology<\/a><\/span>, in Poland.\r\n\r\nIn line with \u015aniata\u0142a, Carlos Santos, student from the Spanish University of Cantabria<\/span><\/a> (UC), assured that this meeting enabled young people \u201cto develop different proposals to improve the European Union\u201d and, as Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Cueto, another student form UC, said, \u201cto address its crucial challenges.\u201d For the student coming from the Belgian University of Mons<\/span><\/a>, Ahmed Hammoudeh, \u201cit was interesting to learn about some of Generation Z\u2019s perspectives on the EU values.\u201d\r\n\r\nThe addressed topics were presented in ten different panels<\/a><\/span>, from European common values as, among others, cybersecurity, public health, democracy, climate refugees or inclusiveness. Inclusiveness was, in fact, one of the main values that encouraged EUNICE\u2019s students to attend the Assembly, and it is the common thread of the Manifesto on the Future of Universities in Europe<\/em><\/a><\/span> emerged from this meeting, which talks about diversity, multiculturalism and multilingualism, aiming at achieving joint European degrees and ensuring an \u201ceffective mobility\u201d as \u201cone of the keystones of the future o universities at the European scale.\u201d\r\n\r\nGaston Lahmar, who studies at Universit\u00e9 Polytechnique Hauts-de-France<\/a><\/span>, highlighted that this assembly \u201cwas an extremely rich moment from a cultural point of view and extremely productive from a work point of view.\u201d\r\n\r\nIt is planned that this inaugural session will lead to further meetings to give students a voice in the European Union. \u201cTo meet and exchange opinions,\u201d that was the basis according to Gaston Lahmar. Carlos Santos and Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Cueto called this event \u201ca fantastic\u201d and \u201can incredible\u201d opportunity. It was \u201ca real pleasure\u201d for Javier Lanza (UC).\r\n\r\nAnd, championing freedom of speech, Ahmed Hammoudeh wanted to recall that \u201cOne day, the statement the Earth revolves around the Sun deserved punishment.
