Moodle pre-filled template

“Preparation course for a successful exchange experience”

A resource for IROs designed to help improve the exchange experience of outgoing students.

This tool offers a template in “.mbz” format to implement a virtual course in Moodle. The aim is to provide outgoing students who have been selected for an international exchange with a more global vision with an emphasis on reflection and self-knowledge. The proposed format offers a basic reference structure composed of different thematic modules that can be customised according to the needs of each university. The course is designed to be taken before, during and after the mobility and offers students a space for self-management through a mapping strategy (individual or shared with other exchange students) of their exchange experience, helping to raise awareness and develop the softskills at stake in their exchange experience.

Objectives of the tool

The tool has several objectives:

  • To offer an additional proposal to the exchange experience in order to validate and become aware of the learning linked to the softskills that are put into play in an experience that takes place in an international context.
  • To deepen the development of skills linked to curiosity and openness to diversity in a multicultural context.
  • To deepen the development of awareness of the need for global commitment (human rights, environment, equity and inclusion, etc.) and the skills that come into play in the contrast with the exchange experience and the return to everyday life.
  • To deepen the development of skills linked to adaptability and openness to new learning offered by contact with people from different backgrounds, the need to carry out formalities and independent living.
  • To deepen awareness of the opportunity for the development of problem-solving and decision-making skills throughout the exchange process (before, during, after).

What IRO problems will this tool solve

This tool simplifies the development of a virtual course for the development of softskills for exchange students from each university.

At the same time, it wants to be a meeting point to access a peer support forum oriented to support from common experience that allows to recognise common needs and learning opportunity for the development of competences or softskills.

How does it work?

The tool consists of a .mbz backup of a Moodle course template composed by the following elements:

  • Editable presentations.
  • PDFs
  • Forums

The .mbz format allow the complete course to be imported and implemented in the institutional Moodle platform of each university, edited and customised.
