University of Catania (Italy) will host the General Assembly and results dissemination event of EUNICE, in preparation for entering the second phase of the project. The event is open to the public and will be streamed.

Ten universities from ten European countries, 60 faculties and schools, 150 thousand students and 15 thousand lecturers and staff, about a thousand degree courses and over 280 thousand scientific publications: this is the ‘business card’ of Eunice European University. The alliance born in 2020, co-funded by the European Union within the Erasmus+ programme, is entering a new stage and to close its first pilot project has organised a results dissemination event, “Activating a European University”, coinciding with the General Assembly of rectors. Programmed on 18 September in the University of Catania -Italy-, the event involves over 100 people from 10 European countries, it´s open to the public and will be streamed.

EUNICE’s mission is to become a unique university able to offer customised and personalised educational pathways to students, promoting interdisciplinary and multicultural approaches and the consolidation of ‘European citizenship’.

EUNICE celebrates its three-year anniversary by holding its concluding General Assembly in Catania (Italy), following previous editions in face-to-face attendance in Valenciennes (France), Santander (Spain) and Vaasa (Finland), as well as several other assemblies held online. This event marks the end of the three-year ‘pilot’ project and the official start of a new phase, which has been refinanced until 2027 with an allocation of over 14 million euros.

The General Assembly in Catania will be the occasion to plan future objectives and strategies, focused on the alignment of academic and administrative processes among partner universities, expand the shared academic offer, support multilingualism and intercultural awareness, develop and promote pedagogical excellence and innovation in the consortium. Upcoming initiatives to foster transnational mobility and personalised learning, support international networking for the direct application of the knowledge generated by the alliance universities, will contribute to the social, economic, environmental and cultural development of each of the territories involved.
