This tool offers a template in “.mbz” format to implement a virtual course in Moodle. The aim of this course is to provide academic coordinators with the tools and knowledge required to provide academic guidance to international students in their academic exchange experience. The template offers a space to share content of interest to Academic Coordinators, tutorials, tips, EWP news forum…
Objectives of the tool
The tool has several objectives:
- To centralise recommendations and information provided to frequently changing academic coordinators as a practical guide for the development of their functions.
- To offer a meeting point for academic coordinators from different areas of study.
- To encourage the creation of dynamics between academic coordinators in order to initiate new agreements and promote the internationalisation of the University.
What IRO problems will this tool solve
This tool emerged in a context of constant changes of academic coordinators, which meant that time and resources had to be allocated to the training of new staff. The aim is to retain knowledge through an online course that allows each user to progress at their own pace and in a more enjoyable way. In addition, it provides a means of information exchange between coordinators from different areas of the same university through a forum. Staff from any IRO can download the course template (.mbz file) and then customise it to suit the specific context of their university by adding, deleting or modifying one or more of the sections it contains. Minimal knowledge of the Moodle environment is required, although the IT Service can lend a hand.
How does it work?
The tool consists of a .mbz backup of a Moodle course template composed by the following elements:
- Videos
- Editable presentations.
- PDFs
- Forums
The .mbz format allow the complete course to be imported and implemented in the institutional Moodle platform of each university, edited and customised.
Stay tuned for the release of upcoming tools!
