NATIONAL LANGUAGES: SPANISH FOR BEGINNERS

In the course National Languages: Spanish for beginners students will learn the very basic words and phrases of Spanish in different everyday situations:

  • greetings
  • numbers – telling the time, prices
  • most common phrases connected to studying: library, lectures, exercises, seminars, official functions, socialising, life on campus
  • everyday practical situations: shopping, food, going to a café/restaurant/bar, buying a train ticket, concert ticket, movie ticket online…

They will get information about Spanish culture and society:

  • How do we talk to people (formal vs. informal)?
  • National idiosyncrasies

They will be given basic information about the University of Cantabria and possibilities to deepen the language skills while in Spain.

  4. Hola, don Pepito (hello, Don Pepito)
  5. El frigo está vacío (the fridge is empty)

  7. Aprendemos español en la universidad (learning Spanish at university)
  8. Un café, por favor (a coffee, please)
