    EUNICE is seeking academics and researchers interested in expanding their scope of work through an international and inclusive opportunity: the EUNICE Research Summer School. This initiative, exploring the flexible and accessible format of the Blended Intensive Programmes, aims to bring together in Santander students and professors from across Europe to learn, discover, and enjoy.

    Currently, EUNICE has two vacant spots for the academic coordination of the 2026 and 2027 editions, and we want to hear your proposed topics to lead one of them. Express your interest in participating by filling out the application form. You could be the chosen one!

    Application and Selection Process

    In order to submit your application to academically coordinate one of the upcoming editions of the EUNICE Research Summer School (2026 or 2027), please fill out this form.

    The deadline for the reception of submissions is 27 June 2025.

    The selection process will be managed by the University of Cantabria (UC) as Management Coordinators of this initiative, attending to the “Criteria and Requisites” established below.

    Once the submission period has ended, this committee will thoroughly review and evaluate all received proposals. Each proposal will be scored and ranked accordingly. Participants will be notified of the final results via email, and for transparency, they will also be published on the EUNICE website.

    Criteria and Requisites for Elegibility

    The only requisite to apply for this call is being a tenured professor, academic or researcher from one of the EUNICE partner universities.

    IMPORTANT: Please remember that you will eventually need at least two partners to develop the BIP (it is mandatory to include an academic co-coordinator from UC). Although it is not stated as a requirement for submitting the proposal, including these contacts in the application will be positively assessed when analysing your proposal.

    The EUNICE Research Summer School Committee will select two different proposals to coordinate the editions of 2026 and 2027 based on the following criteria, up to 50 points:

    • (0 – 30). Quality of the proposal.
        • Feasibility and practicality.
        • Expertise of the proposers and number of partners.
        • Interdisciplinary approach.
        • Engagement and interaction.
    • (0 – 15). Suitability with the EUNICE key academic areas. (1) Smart cities, (2) Health, (3) Transport mobility, (4) Environment energy, (5) Sustainable development.
        • Alignment with EUNICE goals and key competencies.
        • Innovative and original ideas.
        • Educational value.
        • Relevance to current research trends.
    • (0 – 5). Potential for further collaboration in the future.
        • Promotion of the partnership beyond the summer school.
        • Possibilities to inspire further research or joint initiatives.

    The minimum score to be considered and reviewed is 25 points.

    The proposal with the most points will be the selected one.

    In the event of similar results, preference will be given to proposals from partners who have not coordinated courses in previous editions. Geographical balanced will be taken into account.
