Community-Based Learning Across Generations

This online workshop brings together people involved in the CoblAges activities — students, older adults, community leaders and academics — to share experiences and reflect on what we have learned through intergenerational work in local communities.
Coblages is a project coordinated by the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu that will move into a second phase, including the Universidade Federal de Viçosa, an EUNICE Associated Partner.
During the session, participants will hear real examples from different countries, explore what worked well in practice, and discuss how community-based and intergenerational learning initiatives can be sustained and adapted in other contexts.
The event is designed as an open and participatory space, encouraging dialogue across generations and backgrounds, and offering inspiration to anyone interested in learning with communities and across ages.
Who is it for?
This workshop is designed for people who are directly involved in education, community work, ageing, and intergenerational initiatives, as well as those interested in applying community-based learning approaches in practice.
It is particularly relevant for:
- Students involved in community projects, civic engagement, or intergenerational activities
- University professors and lecturers interested in community-based learning, active citizenship, or intergenerational education
- University administrative or support staff working on student engagement, outreach, or third mission activities
- Community leaders and stakeholders involved in ageing, rural development, or intergenerational initiatives
- Professionals from residential or semi-residential elderly services
- Representatives of local public authorities working in ageing, social services, or community development
- NGO representatives active in ageing, inclusion, education, or community engagement
The event is open to both practitioners and academics, and to anyone interested in learning from concrete intergenerational experiences developed through the CoblAges project.
