ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES

The course will touch upon the most updated engineering and related issues compatible with the idea of sustainable development. The modules will concentrate on such ideas as smart cities and energy systems, intelligent houses, sustainable building, and green energy.

The main objectives of the course are to provide students with basic knowledge in the field of engineering, improve students’ reading comprehension and listening skills, acquaint students with basic field-specific terminology as well as develop basic writing skills related to the field.

The programme of the course is divided into 5 main blocks.

  1. Smart cities
  2. Smart energy systems
  3. Sustainable building. Main characteristics and assumptions
  4. Green energy
  5. Intelligent houses

Timetable:

2h online-live consultations, 1h online-live testing, 12h online self-study.

  • EUNICE student: enrolled as a student of a Masters degree in one of the universities of EUNICE European University consortium (check its members here).
    • Most preferably civil and environmental engineering faculties and related fields of studies.
  • B2 level of English
