During last CRUSOE’s general assembly, it was agreed with the regional governments to propose this network of universities as an interlocutor with the European Commission for the building of a European Atlantic macro-region

University of Cantabria (Spain, UC) hosted the last general assembly of the Conference of Rectors of Southwestern European Universities (CRUSOE for its acronym in Spanish and Portuguese). This was the 14th general assembly of this Portuguese-Spanish network of universities, to which Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (Portugal, IPV) belongs too. Apart from rectors -includying UC’s and IPV’s-, this gathering was also attended by representatives of the regional governments of the north-western Iberian macro-region RESOE, in which these universities are located. One of the most important agreements of this meeting is that CRUSOE will work as an intermediary with the European Commission to achieve its approval for the creation of a European Atlantic macro-region.
