Description:

The EGP Innothon Challenge is focused on the development of an autonomous robotic platform, capable of moving around renewable plants to carry out data collection, inspections and small maintenance activities.

The robotic solutions proposed by participants must be autonomous in fulfilling the missions, pre-planned in a dedicated opensource software/dashboard where an operator can define each mission. They should also be equipped with AI features to support basic data analytics. Collected data must be automatically synchronised with a supervision software/dashboard at the end of the mission (the possibility of information live streaming would be a plus). They should include a manual override for the operator to take the control during the mission if needed.

The system must be 100% electrical.

Phases:

  1. Each group will submit the proposal. Tutors will be available for any doubts and will also offer two webinars to this purpose.
  2. EGP will select the best proposals and provide a customised kit to each selected group up to €5,000. Additional tools could be provided if EGP considers them necessary after evaluating the case.
  3. Selected participants will work on a prototype of the proposed idea. Tutors will be available too.
  4. Selected team will be invited to a 3-day event in July at the Innovation Hub&Lab in Catania, Italy, for prototype refining, using an advanced kit (travel and accommodation costs covered).

Proposal requirements:

  • be clear, intuitive and relevant
  • detail the technical features using up to 5 pages

Eligibility:

  • Europeans or those with a Student Schengen Visa base in Europe
