REUNICE Certificate Programme

Certificate in Sustainability Management

(in public bodies and private companies)

  • Dates: from 16 to 20 September 2024 (Catania + 3 weeks online)
  • Location: Catania (Italy) onsite plus online attendance
  • Applications deadline: 12 July 2024
  • Fees: UNICT will cover costs for: travel, hotel, coffee breaks and lunch breaks for the 12 non-UNICT students and teachers (tentative dates: arrival on Sunday September 15th and departure on Friday evening September 20th, 5 nights).

ABOUT THE CERTIFICATE

The aim of the course is to provide the basic concepts of sustainability in the different dimensions (social, environmental, economic) and the management concepts to implement sustainability within a public organizations and private companies.

The course will focus on the role of public policies to achieve the sustainability objectives of Agenda 2030 highlighting their interaction with private interests and the society.Relevant case studies will be presented by experts and professionals.

The programme will be in hybrid mode (3 weeks online + 1 week onsite).  The onsite week will be held from September 16 to 20, 2024 in Catania, Italy.

The topics the certificate programme will focus on are:

  • Introduction to Sustainable Development
  • Sustainability Planning and Management (internal organization, strategy and communications)
  • Water Management, Circular economy, Environmental compliance
  • Mobility Management
  • Energy Management
  • Climate Change and Carbon neutrality
  • Sustainable Food Supply
  • Environmental Justice and Equity
  • Sustainable Cities
  • Innovation, Digital transition and ecological transition
  • Sustainability metrics, Accountability, Certification
  • Raising awareness on sustainability

HOW TO APPLY

  • Application deadline: from 2 to 12 July 2024
  • Fees: UNICT will cover costs for: travel, hotel, coffee breaks and lunch breaks for the 12 non-UNICT students and teachers (tentative dates: arrival on Sunday September 15th and departure on Friday evening September 20th, 5 nights).
  • Candidates: The school will be open to about 14 motivated and pre-selected candidates with the following requirements:
      • EUNICE Ph.D. student: enrolled as a PhD student in one of the universities of EUNICE European University alliance.
      • B2+ level of English.
      • Participation in other EUNICE initiatives and international activities (specify in motivational letter).

REUNICE will select two students from each partner university, ensuring equal opportunity and gender balance.
