It is a health monitoring system for dependents that uses AI tools and big data. This project is one of the finalists of EUNICE Imagine Innovation Cup, an entrepreneurship competition that will take place in Catania -Italy- in July 2023 and will gather participants from all EUNICE partner universities
SENSE team will represent the University of Cantabria in the final of the EUNICE Imagine Innovation Cup, organised by the University of Catania and taking place in Italy next July. It is an entrepreneurship competition that will bring together the best teams from each of the EUNICE partner universities.
SENSE project consists of a health monitoring system for elderly and dependent people in a predictive, cheap and centralised way. Using AI and big data tools, with an optimised design of the electronics, the device has two versions, one of which is aimed at families and where care is monitored at home, while the other version is aimed at public services concerned with the quality of life of such people, as hospitals and nursing homes.
“We aim to be a preventive tool, allowing us to detect deterioration in the patient’s state of health before it becomes a serious problem,” stated SENSE team in their proposal.
SENSE and its social commitment
SENSE team, composed by one graduate and four students from the University of Cantabria, was the winner of the UCem Awards entrepreneurship local competition in the category of Social Responsibility. They also received the EUNICE award for “its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals,” as highlighted by the jury, especially with the third SDG on Good health and well-being.
