Take off – Key qualifications for your idea workshop

1 task, 5 days and 10 teams – These are the most important facts about the module “key qualifications for everyday Work” at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU). The intensive workshop was organised in cooperation with the CreativeOpenLab (COLab) at the STARTBLOCK B2 start-up centre and was offered as a module in the context of interdisciplinary studies. In terms of content, the module combines theoretical with practical learning and sensitises participants to start-ups. The goal of the workshop was to implement a sustainable idea during this week.

The five-day block course was divided into two alternating phases, each of which builds on the didactic design of activation, mediation and supervision. In order to ensure the most intensive supervision possible, the students were divided into groups. The groups are put together with the greatest possible diversity (in terms of courses of study, number of semesters and gender), to reduce inhibitions and to achieve the greatest possible exchange of experiences. In five days of collaboration, the participants not only practice creativity and the application of knowledge, but also a high degree of teamwork.

While one group gains valuable input in seminars on start-up-related topics such as Business Model Canvas, PR and marketing for founders, business plan preparation, visual design and presentation techniques, the other group works actively in their founding teams on their respective prototypes. This takes place in alternation, so that all students can take advantage of the same offer. Thanks to the small number of participants, teachers can respond individually to the plans of the individual founding teams and impart knowledge, experience and key competencies in equal measure.

On the last day, the students were able to present their sustainable ideas to the jury. Three places were awarded among the creative ideas, becoming winner the Team Modeck for their Multideck product.
