The University of Vaasa offers its students the possibility of getting work-life skills that make them stand out on the job market. Thanks to the Bloomberg Lab, students, professors and researchers from this Finish university have access to Bloomberg’s real-time market and financial data, news, analyses and tools, as a response to the growing demand for employees with analytical skills and an understanding of data.
“The Bloomberg Lab is an education and research environment that uses Bloomberg’s databases, tools and news stream. Many highly-ranked international universities use similar laboratories,” said Senior Advisor Helinä Saarela who is developing collaboration and the working-life relevancy of education at the University of Vaasa.
The Bloomberg Terminal is used by financial institutions and corporations to make critical financial market-based decisions, especially concerning investments and their risks. Practical knowledge of how to use the Terminal is a valued skill by employers in the financial industry. The Bloomberg Lab can be widely used both in teaching and research. Students at the university of Vaasa are free to use the lab on their own for coursework and theses.
“The Bloomberg Lab gives our students an advantage when looking for a job and brings practical simulation and wide-ranging global data into our teaching,” stated Helinä Saarela.
