Last year, its President Artiba visited the country and the university hosted the 12th Franco-Indonesian Cooperation Conference on Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Partnership. In previous years, it signed partnership agreements with Bandung Institute of Technology and with National Research and Innovation Agency, both located in Indonesia
Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF), located in the French city of Valenciennes, is committed to stregthening its relations with Indonesia. This institution just signed a partnership agreement with the Indonesian so-called National Research and Innovation Agency, which is binding from 2023. This agreement is the result of discussions carried out at the heads of thi Indonesian agency in Jakarta, where the establishment of a joint research centre on the theme of green mobility was one of the main topics for conversation.
This was not the first approach between this French university and Indonesia. The President of UPHF Abdelhakim Artiba visited Indonesia at the end of November 2022 to participate in meetings under the auspices of the French Embassy.
In June 2022, UPHF was chosen to host and coordinate the organisation of the twelfth Franco-Indonesian Cooperation Conference on Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Partnership, also known as JWG (Joint Working Group). More than 30 French institutions and 300 Indonesian participants were present to discuss the main themes of cooperation between French and Indonesian delegations.
In addition, in 2018, UPHF signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bandung Institute of Technology, in south-western Indonesia. This allowed the consolidation of the setting up of joint masters programmes as well as a PhD co-supervision programme in science and technology were discussed. In addition, a series of seminars presented UPHF’s research activities, in particular that of the IEMN (Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology, at UPHF), for intelligent transport systems and activities in functional materials for microelectronics.
