Around 10,100 university students and staff members took part so far in transnational virtual activities organised by EUNICE, as online courses, workshops, webinars, forums, cultural events or contests
Since its foundation in November 2020, EUNICE European University has made virtual mobility possible for over 10,100 people, mainly university students, but also university staff members and external audiences. This consortium has developed diverse virtual mobility activities, aiming to strengthen ties between EUNICE partner universities, to foster the interconnection of students and staff beyond borders, to exchange expertise and ideas, and to establish further international collaborations in research, administrative areas and between students.
EUNICE organised nearly 100 online courses -includying some hybrid ones, as four Blended Intensive Programmes offered so far- on various areas of knowledge, from social and humanistic sciences to different engineering branches, offered by lecturers from all the EUNICE partner universities and mostly in English. 3,130 applicants were accepted for registration, the majority of whom were students who had the opportunity to obtain ECTS credits for their degrees. Apart from these courses, another one was offered by EUNICE, a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), which was available for the general public. So, 183 people from both inside and outside the university environment completed this MOOC, offered in an audio-visual format by lecturers from each of the EUNICE partners.
In the most cultural side of the consortium, three editions of the EUNICE Weeks have taken place so far. Tournaments, cultural activities, conferences, forums and contests were part of the programmes, in which over 6,245 people participated, mainly remotely. Not only university students and staff from EUNICE could exchange ideas, learn about other cultures and make connections, but also the general public was invited to attend online events and also watch on-site activities on streaming.
EUNICE organised other virtual activities, such as webinars, training sessions, contests or workshops, which were attended by around 550 members of the university community.
Mobility helps EUNICE to set transnational ties between universities, people and cultures. And when it comes to the online format, mobility becomes wider and more accessible and inclusive.
