Rector Philippe Dubois, ranked first.

Eight researchers from University of Mons, (UMONS), in Belgium, appear in the national top 100 of the first ranking of leading scientists in materials science published by Research.com! Indeed, Prof. Philippe Dubois, Rector of this university, was ranked first among 102 Belgian researchers.

The ranking was established based on h-index values, recent publications and number of citations of the researchers. In order for the ranking to be as accurate as possible, the careers of 166,880 scientists have been methodically examined. The best scientists were then ranked according to their country of origin and where they conducted their research. This led to a Belgian top 100 with the rector of the University of Mons, Prof. Philippe Dubois, at the top. Seven other researchers from UMONS are also present in the top 100, with two even in the top 10.

Partners of UMONS laboratories and alumni also appear in the ranking for materials science. Furthermore, UMONS researchers have also received good rankings in other categories such as computer sciences and electrical engineering.
