Objectives of the tool

The objective of the IRO Training Video Handbook is to present a complete procedure of creating short training videos in the easiest and fastest way. Time is extremely valuable in IROs. Therefore, the purpose of the tool is to save time thanks to gathering all necessary information in one place. It should also encourage IRO officers to record training videos and show that it is not difficult. An important aspect here is also the fact that, once created, the videos’ database preserves the knowledge in case of staff change. It also serves as a knowledge repository for IRO staff.

What IRO problems will this tool solve

The Handbook will help with lack of time for creating training videos, as it provides the complete procedure of the recording process, technical requirements and the tools used for that.

The lack of awareness that video can be made easily and without any advanced equipment can be also an issue. The Handbook solves it by providing tips and suggestions on how to make it without any additional help from eg. IT department. The special Check List attached at the end of the Handbook allows self control of the whole process.

The tool will help to run the IRO smoothly, regardless of personnel changes within the unit over the time. New staff will be able to gain the knowledge faster and will be ready to use it in practice.

How does the tool work?

The tool consists of a handbook containing information on how to create a short training video and attached to it the Check List allowing one to control by oneself the procedure of creating a video.

The handbook is a meta-tool which could be used in any university wanting to create their own training videos. The videos already resulting from following the Handbook can be used both inside and outside of the university, depending on the topic and language used.
