The aim of the course is to introduce theories of and research on gender, sexuality, and psychology in gender studies, and to give an introduction to LGBTIQ+ psychology. On the basis of knowledge about gender, sexuality, and psychology developed in gender studies, students acquire an understanding of the interplay between gender, sexuality, and psychological development. Students also develop skills required to reflect upon and analyse psychological research and practice based on an awareness of gender, class, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, and disability.

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to
- explain gender studies theories of and perspectives on gender, sexuality, and psychology,
- give an account of how the interplay between gender, sexuality, and psychological development is
described in gender studies, and - analyze and reflect critically upon psychological research and practice from a gender studies
perspective.
