Law and Practice of the United Nations

The course “Law and Practice of the United Nations”  deals mainly with the competence and functions of the main political organs of the UN: the General Assembly and the Security Council. Refering to the most recent crises the students will be able to explore the activities of the UN with regard to the maintenance of international peace and security.

Learnig outcomes: 

Students will learn about the drafting and negotiation of UN Security Council as well as UN General Assembly resolutions; prepare speeches and discuss relevant issues based on the UN Charter and other relevant international law provisions.
