AI for Science

The mission of our club is to harness the power of Artificial Intelligence, neural networks, and advanced computational physics to develop innovative, customized solutions that directly improve people’s health and quality of life.

We aim to bridge the gap between rigorous academic research and real-world societal challenges, transforming complex data into accessible tools for the greater good.

Our primary objective is to drive tangible societal impact by developing cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence models, starting with an AI-driven tool to optimize medical dosimetry for safer and more personalized radiation treatments.

To achieve this, we aim to foster interdisciplinary collaboration by uniting students from physics, computer science, and medicine to tackle real-world challenges together.

Through hands-on projects, knowledge transfer, and the promotion of customised innovation, we seek to translate our strong theoretical backgrounds into adaptable machine learning solutions that directly improve European healthcare and society.

Club activities:

  • The club will organize weekly AI development sprints to continuously train and optimize our medical dosimetry models.
  • Alongside these core technical sessions, we will host monthly “Future of AI” seminars to engage the broader student body on upcoming technological trends and ethical considerations.
  • We will conduct hands-on neural network workshops to teach foundational programming skills to newcomers from diverse disciplines, culminating in interdisciplinary hackathons each semester where students can collaboratively build innovative AI solutions for pressing healthcare and social challenges.
  • Anything you want to try! Let’s build this club together, so your ideas and wishes shall come true! (Maybe not all. Let’s stay realistic.)
  • Target Groups: Medical researchers and mathematics, physics and computational engineering students

Aditional information

  • Our club is founded by a group of MSc Physics students with an advanced background in neural networks, statistical analysis, and computational modeling.
  • This expertise allows us to approach AI development with the rigor of fundamental science. Currently, our most significant asset is an ongoing research project focused on medical dosimetry optimization, for which we are actively preparing a grant application.
  • This project not only serves as our primary technical roadmap but also as a practical case study for our members.
