Microcredential — Gender and Diversity Approaches in Child Protection

During the EUNICE Microcredential in Gender and Diversity Approaches in Child Protection: Professional Decision-Making with Vulnerable Populations, students will learn to integrate gender and diversity perspectives into child protection practice, assess cases through an intersectional lens, identify and address bias in professional decision-making, and develop inclusive, evidence-based documentation, intervention strategies and organisational protocols.

The content of the course consists of seven units:

  1. Conceptual Framework: Ggender, Diversity and Intersectionality in Child Protection
  2. The Environment Around the Child: Family Participation, Institutional Mandate, Children’s Rrights and Advocacy.
  3. Decision-Making and Dilemmas in Child Protection.
  4. From Theory to Practice: Working on Real Cases.

  • Open to all study levels. Targeted to professionals working in the child protection system and social services.
  • Recommended English level: B2.
  • Recommended background: studies or professional activity in the family, psychosocial, educational or legal fields related to child protection.
