LEARNING OUTCOMES
Students will:

  • Attain linguistic competence at CEFR B2 level, enabling fluent and spontaneous expression in social and professional contexts.
  • Apply the acquired skills to write essays and to present and describe complex topics in a clear and articulated way, developing specific points and concluding everything appropriately, in line with international academic standards

1. CRITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS – power relations, dominance, ideology, bias, legitimation
2.THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK – Fairclough’s three-dimensional model
3. CDA AND SYSTEMIC FUNCTIONAL LINGUISTICS – ideological representation of experience – strategies of social actor representation – appraisal theory
4.CDA AND MULTIMODAL STUDIES – ideologies in multimodal texts

PLANNED LEARNING ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING METHODS
