National Languages Portuguese A1.1 26-27 S1

Course content:
The beginner Portuguese course covers essential language skills for everyday communication.
Students will learn to confidently introduce themselves, engage in basic conversations, and
understand simple texts and instructions. Through units focused on social interaction, daily life,
family dynamics, and shopping, students will acquire vocabulary and grammar structures necessary
for effective communication. Cultural awareness elements are integrated throughout, providing
insight into Portuguese-speaking countries’ customs and traditions. By the end of the course,
students will have developed functional language skills and a basic understanding of Portuguese
culture, motivating them to continue their language learning journey.

• Pronunciation: work on correct pronunciation and intonation.
Listening Skills:
• Understanding simple conversations;

• Understanding simple texts;

Cultural Awareness:
• Knowledge of Cultures: gain knowledge of cultures, customs, and traditions of Portuguesespeaking countries.

Objectives:

• Understand simple, everyday expressions and basic phrases related to personal
information, daily routine, shopping, and immediate surroundings.

• Recognize and understand familiar words and basic phrases in simple texts, signs, and
notices.
Writing Skills:
• Write short, simple messages and personal notes using basic vocabulary and common
expressions.
Cultural Awareness:
• Gain basic knowledge of Portuguese-speaking countries’ cultures, customs, and traditions
