Promoting entrepreneurial culture, strengthening skills, and supporting students and PhD candidates in transforming ideas into concrete projects within an increasingly international perspective. With these objectives, the Startup Bootcamp 2026 officially began in recent days at the new conference hall of the university incubator YouCube. The initiative is a cycle of professional seminars that precedes and includes the international entrepreneurial training program of EUNICE.
The program, open to all university students and PhD candidates, lasts a total of 45 hours and takes place from April 29 to June 9. It aims to develop a systemic and future-oriented vision capable of combining theoretical approaches with practical applications.
Often, those with an innovative idea do not possess all the skills necessary to develop it, which is why entrepreneurship today means integrating diverse areas of knowledge.
EUNICE Startup Academy is the program that, from June 5 to 9 and coordinated by the EUNICE team of the University of Catania, will complement the Bootcamp with two key events:
- June 5, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM (online): an international workshop dedicated to all students of the EUNICE Alliance, featuring two specific focuses: “From Idea to Impact: Skills and Tools for Successful Entrepreneurship” and “Intelligent Circularity: Leveraging AI for Sustainable Business Transformation.”
- June 8 and 9, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the YouCube incubator of the University of Catania: the Startup Summer Camp, dedicated in particular to themes of European entrepreneurship, innovative strategies, and new opportunities for international collaboration.
The initiative is also part of the broader EUNICE Incubator Programme, which includes both a physical and virtual incubator designed to connect spaces, expertise, and opportunities through mentorship, entrepreneurial training, and access to investors. The goal is to support students, PhD candidates, and future entrepreneurs in transforming ideas into businesses.
The International Workshop Program
Starting from a historical analysis of the evolution of entrepreneurship, the program explores the characteristics of contemporary startups, their life cycle, and the main organizational dynamics. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with established methodologies such as Lean Startup, agile development, and customer discovery—essential tools for reducing uncertainty, rapidly validating hypotheses, and adapting to market needs.
Special attention will be given to the role of the team, the development of complementary skills, and the creation of a shared culture focused on growth. Through an experiential and collaborative approach, participants will analyze practical applications of Machine Learning and Generative Design, working in international teams to tackle complex challenges and develop innovative solutions.
The final assessment will take place through a dynamic session based on the Kahoot platform, designed to consolidate the knowledge acquired in a participatory and engaging way through a challenge open to all participants. Finalists will also have the opportunity to access the European final of the EUNICE Start Cup, scheduled for 2027 in Sweden.
This represents a concrete opportunity to transform innovative ideas into entrepreneurial projects capable of competing beyond national borders, while establishing direct connections with companies, experts, and innovation stakeholders.
