31st Conference on Vibrations in Physical and Technical Systems

By 27/03/2024April 24th, 2024No Comments

Poznan (Poland), from 16 to 18 October, 2024

Join this periodically organised scientific event with a 64-year tradition

The Vibrations in Physical Systems Symposium is a periodically organised scientific event with a 64-year tradition. It gathers scientists working in the fields of science in which mechanical vibrations play an important role. The thematic scope of the conference includes, among others, dynamics of machinery, vibroacoustics, waves in solids and liquids, stability and control issues, and biomechanics. The conference brings together mechanics, mathematicians, engineer-constructors, technologists and physicists around the latest advances in basic and applied sciences. It creates the conditions for exchanging experiences and establishing collaborations.

The first symposium on linear and nonlinear vibrations took place in 1960 in Poznań (Poland). The work of the organising committee was headed by the chairman of the Poznan Department of PTMTS – prof. Edmund Karaśkiewicz. The idea of the periodically organised conferences was continued in the next years under the chairmanship of prof. Czesław Cempel and prof. Jarosław Stefaniak.

The places of the next editions of this conference were the resort in Błażejewko near Kórnik and the conference centre of the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Będlewo (Poland).

The Symposium has permanently entered the calendar of Polish scientific events. On the 60th anniversary of the Conference, it came back to Poznan to exchange the experiences as well as to recall the memories of this symposium and its participants.

EUNICE European University is a patron of the conference.
