We are celebrating EUNICE Day of Languages 2025! Over the next days, this page will feature content about the languages of our EUNICE alliance from the ten partner universities. You will also have the opportunity to participate in various synchronous virtual events, and in some cases, on-site events at your university.

We invite you to try out one of our languages and gain insight into European languages with these short introductions. Learning languages opens doors to communication and deepens cultural understanding.

The synchronic content is still visible until 31th of October 2025.

Books Without Borders: Colonial Echoes in Language.

“What happens when the language we speak is not entirely our own—but shaped by histories of power, colonialism, and resistance? ”Step into an evening of stories, language(s) and ideas ! During this EUNICE Language Week, join us online on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings for a relaxed book chat featuring authors from different parts of the world, offering modern and contemporary perspectives. We’ll dive into short excerpts on language and coloniality, reading them in their original version or in English translation—your choice!

You’ll get the texts in advance and are invited to read them carefully before the session to share thoughts, compare perspectives, and let the conversation flow.

Bring your curiosity, your cup of tea, and let’s see what happens when languages, history, and ideas meet—across borders and beyond time.
