Connecting education, research and industry for the mobility of tomorrow
The Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF) will host the EUNICE Synergy Congress on 18–19 November 2026 in Valenciennes, France.
Under the theme “Mobility of Tomorrow: What Synergies to Transform Territories?”, the Congress will bring together students, researchers and institutional leaders from across the alliance’s ten partner universities, alongside representatives from industry, research and the European institutions. The goal is to connect education, research and industry across Europe and speed up the shift to sustainable mobility in our territories.
The programme runs over two days. Day 1, “Policy & Strategic Synergies”, examines the strategic and policy dimensions of the transition – building on the region’s industrial heritage to lead in Europe, large-scale decarbonisation technologies, the future of car-dependent territories, and what sustainable mobility requires across energy, social acceptance, the circular economy and health. Day 2, “Synergy Builders”, looks at how this happens in practice: the role of European Universities in transforming their territories, the transfer of research into innovation, the skills and education needed for the transition, and the views of younger generations. Parallel academic workshops will link mobility with digital technologies, energy, health and the circular economy.
Throughout both days, the EUNICE Village will offer a networking space to discover projects and partners from across the alliance, while each partner university is invited to convene a delegation of up to ten participants – from institutional leaders and researchers to PhD students, secondary-school students and industry representatives.
