REUNICE, a project to boost research within EUNICE

EUNICE’s team is using the Summer heat not only to warm up the engines for the start of the new academic year, but also to launch the activities for REUNICE, a strategic SwafS project that will work as the alliance’s arm rowing towards excellence in research.

EUNICE was granted this additional project under the H2020 scheme: Great news for the alliance because it will allow allocating additional resources to enhance all the activities aimed at a greater connection between teaching and research within the university, and between research and other sectors beyond the university context.

REUNICE responds to the principle of serving the global and local communities by building effective cooperation between science and society in an innovative way, creating an extended involvement of citizens, civil society and public authorities in the fields of research and innovation.

To achieve this ambitious goal and promote a stronger link between science and society, the alliance will recruit new talents for science and pair scientific excellence with social awareness and responsibility.

REUNICE promotes:

  • Cooperation between universities and other sectors
  • Open Science as result of EUNICE researchers’ collaboration
  • Excellence in education, research and innovation, fostering diversity, inclusiveness and gender equality
  • Sustainable Science for Business and Society, in line with current and future challenges of European Universities.

The universities participating in the SwafS call are the members of the European University Alliances. EUNICE is among the beneficiaries of H2020 project because REUNICE’s project enhances the quality and competitiveness of the activities within the consortium. Local industry, communities and member universities will also benefit from the project, which contributes to the development of a society based on knowledge and innovation.

The start of the activities within REUNICE project is scheduled for October 2021.
