This new offer will include a bachelor’s degree in Digital Communication and four master’s degrees -in Medicine, in Law, in Energy Engineering and in Urban Planning and Territorial Development-

The University of Mons (Belgium) will offer five new study programmes, including four master’s degrees and a bachelor’s one. The favourable decision of the Government of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation granted the right to organise these new study offer at the Belgian university, including a master’s degree in Medicine jointly with the Université Libre de Bruxelles, for which its Rector, Prof. Philippe Dubois, was very pleased: “I can only rejoice at the prospect of our institution organising this master’s degree in Medicine jointly with the Université Libre de Bruxelles. I am convinced that this master’s degree will be beneficial for our region, its young people and its entire population. We have enjoyed very broad and diverse support from the local community throughout the discussions. This clearly shows that this is a social, societal and public health issue for our province of Hainaut and beyond.”

Two of the new study programmes will open in 2024 and have been jointly accredited with the Université Libre de Bruxelles, namely the Masters in Medicine and in Law in Mons. The remaining 3 are innovative: a new master’s degree in Civil Engineering specialised in Energy Engineering, opening in September 2023, and, from September 2024, a master’s degree in Urban Planning and Territorial Development (together with the Université Libre de Bruxelles) and finally, a Bachelor of Digital Communication (in partnership with the Université Libre de Bruxelles, the Université catholique de Louvain, the Haute Ecole Provinciale de Hainaut and the Haute School Galilée).
